Mary’s song, Advent hope

We were back with a socially distanced congregation yesterday and what a joy it was! On the second Sunday of Advent it was great to be reminded that Advent isn't a celebration, but a time of watching and waiting, a time where we take stock of the world around us and our own hearts, too.❣️

We looked together at Mary's song and found a message of hope and light breaking into darkness. After 400 years of God being silent an angel appeared to Mary with news that made her rejoice in the present, cast her mind back to the faithfulness of God in the past and take hold of His promises of hope for the future.✨

Mary's situation was unique but we can still be inspired and encouraged by her humble faith, knowing that God is rich in grace and mercy and, just like Mary, with nothing but humble faith, we can lay hold of his promises and have an unshakeable hope to expect the dawn. Darkness will not have the last word.🕯

“Hope has a name and His name is Jesus.” 🌟
