We run a number of courses throughout the year on a variety of topics. You’re invited to join in with any that you’re interested in.

All our courses are completely free and open to anyone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Christian or not, or if you attend ABC, another church or no church, everyone is welcome!

 Our Courses

Alpha is perfect for anyone wanting to explore life, faith and meaning.

It’s a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, run over 8 weeks which is open to everyone. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.

No question is out of bounds.

Like most things we do at Ampthill Baptist Church, it’s very relaxed and there’s lots of space for chat! There is no cost for Alpha - even when we eat together it’s completely free of charge!

Our next Alpha Course starts on Monday 12th January 2026.

Digging Deeper

Digging Deeper is an event we aim to run 3-4 times a year. We have two broad aims for these sessions. Firstly, to help us explore some of the 'big ideas', the theological beliefs, that form the foundation of Christian faith. This is to help us grow in understanding of God and why we believe what we believe. Secondly, they are to help us grow in confidence in understanding the Bible.

The themes will include a mix of theological topics (e.g. Who is God? The Bible as God's Word; Creation and new creation; Sin and salvation; the cross), and sessions looking at individual books of the Bible (e.g. Jeremiah, Matthew, Revelation).

Each session is a mix of teaching, small group discussion and Bible study. We meet on a Saturday morning from 9.30 - 1pm, including refreshments breaks. All are welcome, they are accessible for anyone.

Book for the next one - Exploring Jeremiah - on Saturday 8th November.

Explore Mark’s Gospel takes place over a number of Wednesday evenings, and leads us step by step through the whole gospel, with questions to help us explore the text.

It’s free to attend and a copy of Mark’s Gospel will be provided. We’ll explore the person, message and mission of Jesus Christ as a group, looking at what this gospel has to say, with questions and plenty of time for discussion.

Mark’s is the earliest and the shortest of the four Gospels and is quite fast-paced. Join us to see what this small book has to tell us.

Check back regularly for details of when the next ‘Explore Mark’s Gospel’ starts.
